First time back in about a year. There’s been a lot of changes in their menu for the better. I took pictures of the menu only cause the food looked so good I couldn’t wait to dig in . My wife and I will be back again
Overview
Walking into Red Robin Gourmet Burgers And Brews at 1865 Hilliard Rome Rd, Hilliard, OH 43026, United States feels like stepping into a place that already knows what kind of day you’ve had. I’ve eaten here more times than I can count, usually after a long workday or during a casual weekend meetup, and the experience stays consistent in the ways that matter. The atmosphere leans relaxed and upbeat, with families, students, and regulars all sharing the same space without it feeling crowded or rushed.
The menu is where this diner-style restaurant really shows its personality. On one visit, I watched a server explain the difference between several burger builds to a first-time guest, breaking down toppings, bun choices, and cooking styles in plain language. That kind of hands-on guidance reflects a process the brand is known for: customizable burgers made to order. According to National Restaurant Association data, more than 60% of diners prefer restaurants that allow customization, and this location clearly understands that preference. From classic beef patties to chicken and plant-based options, the range makes it easy for mixed groups to find common ground.
What stands out most is how the kitchen handles volume without sacrificing quality. During a busy Friday night, our table ordered five different meals, all with modifications. Every plate arrived hot, accurate, and within a reasonable wait time. That operational consistency lines up with industry best practices outlined by food service researchers at Cornell University, who emphasize standardized prep systems as a key factor in maintaining quality during peak hours. You can see that theory in action here, especially when the dining room is full.
Service plays a big role in why reviews for this location tend to skew positive. Staff members rotate tables efficiently while still checking in often enough to feel attentive rather than intrusive. I once mentioned a mild allergy concern, and the server immediately flagged it for the kitchen and explained how they handle cross-contact. The CDC regularly highlights transparency in food handling as a trust signal for diners, and moments like that make the restaurant feel dependable, not just friendly.
The brews and beverages deserve their own attention, even if you’re not there for alcohol. Craft beer selections rotate, but there’s always a balanced mix of local and national options. For non-drinkers or younger guests, refillable beverages are a big win. The famous bottomless sides, especially fries, turn a simple meal into something closer to comfort food therapy. A fellow diner at the next table summed it up perfectly when they said bottomless fries feel like a small luxury you don’t have to think about.
Location matters too. Being situated on Hilliard Rome Road makes it an easy stop for shoppers, commuters, and locals who don’t want to drive into downtown Columbus. Parking is straightforward, and the surrounding area adds convenience without noise bleeding into the dining room. That balance is often mentioned in online reviews, where guests talk about accessibility just as much as taste.
No restaurant is flawless, and during peak hours the wait time can stretch longer than expected. When that happens, the staff usually communicates clearly, which helps manage expectations. Based on my experience and the pattern across customer feedback, that honesty goes a long way toward maintaining trust.
Between the adaptable menu, reliable service, and welcoming environment, this spot delivers a casual dining experience that feels thoughtfully put together rather than mass-produced. The consistency across visits, backed by proven restaurant practices and transparent service, makes it a place people return to without overthinking the decision.

I got an impossible burger and fries, you can't really mess it up. Our server was a tad slow and hard to hear. It was sort of loud not by guests but the music so that may have played a part. My daughters also had similar items, impossible burger and fries and a BLT on a croissant with a Caesar salad.
Left Applebees because we received little to no service, came to Red Robin and received AMAZING service with great food, Thanks Rebecca! Yes, we were hungry, but we were not disappointed in any of our meal. Red Robin Hilliard never disappoints!
Like most Red Robin restaurants, the food was excellent. The variety of burgers and sandwiches are awesome. This particular location was full of upbeat and welcoming workers. Our server was attentive and accommodating. With some Red Robin restaurants, they don't come by much, expecting you to use the little ordering tablet on the table, but we have the best of both worlds (attentive service and technology). This made for a great lunch date.
